Existing networks and supporting programmes
• https://www.oecd.org - founded in 1960 in Paris, its aim is to promote sustainable economic growth as
well as to remove barriers to trade. The OECD also coordinates trade and economic policy towards
countries outside the organisation. It is considered to be a club of the rich, which includes the wealthiest
countries in the world (about 30), including Poland since 1996.
• https://www.imf.org/external/index.htm - was established in 1944 to coordinate Member States’
financial policies. The Fund also acts as a centre for consultation and information on, for example,
international monetary relations.
The IMF finances its activities from contributions from Member States where the beneficiaries are poorer
countries or countries in economic difficulties
